After School Care


St. Matthew’s After School Care is available for students in Grades K-8. It is a fee-based childcare program provided by the School for the convenience of those K-8 families who need childcare after the end of the regular school day. The program is offered when school is in session according to the following schedule:
Monday – Friday: 3pm-5pm
Students have an opportunity for quiet study, informal socialization, and supervised playground activities. Charges are $10 an hour calculated in 15-minute increments starting at 3:15pm.
 
2023-2024 After School Enrichment Program
 
St. Matthew’s After School Enrichment Program offers special interest classes for K-6th Grade students each fall and spring. Enrichment classes meet on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:15-4:15pm when school is in session. Course offerings change from one semester to the next and include such choices as chess, cooking, Musical Theatre, introductory sports and dance, robotics, and Minecraft.
 
Session I: September 25 - January 22
(make-up week: January 29)
 
Session II: February 5 - May 28, 2024
(make-up week: June 3)
 
Students gather after school on the blacktop for snacks and playtime. Enrichment instructors meet students at 3:15pm and escort them to classrooms. Classes finish at 4:15pm unless otherwise noted on the class description. 
 
Homework Club

Homework Club is a free after-school study hall for 4th-8th Grade school students who wish to work on homework assignments before going home. The program meets in the Garland Library Monday through Thursday from 3-4pm.
 
Students who are unable to adhere to behavior expectations will be moved to After School Care and parents will be charged. Students waiting for a ride home after 4pm will join After School Care and parents will be charged accordingly.
