Carpool Count

St. Matthew’s retains Wiltec, a licensed traffic engineering firm approved by the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, to count and report the number of cars entering campus in the morning as well as the number of students they carry. The traffic counts are not announced in advance, taking place on random school or summer session days. St. Matthew's has been required to maintain a 52% compliance level from 1997 through 2014 and, as of 2015, the requirement has increased to 62% compliance. In addition, on an annual average, no more than 240 vehicles carrying students shall arrive at school for morning student drop off.
