Robert Risley » Biography


Mr. Risley joined the St. Matthew’s faculty in 2009 as the Physical Education Coordinator and Preschool-3rd Grade PE teacher. Mr. Risley had previously taught PE in a K-8 school for three years in Northern California. Mr. Risley earned his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Marshall University, where he attended on a soccer scholarship. He went on to earn his Master's in Health, Physical Education and Recreation and his California Teaching Credential from Saint Mary's College of California. By providing a positive, fun and challenging environment in physical education, Mr. Risley hopes to encourage a life-long passion for being physically active and enjoying the great outdoors. As Upper School Dean, Mr. Risley works closely with Mr. Harlan and the Upper School faculty to help create a positive educational and behavioral environment for all students to be successful.
