Dr. Maya Kelly » Biography

Biography

Dr. Kelly began her role as School Psychologist at St. Matthew’s in 2007. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan and her Master of Arts in Psychology and Education from Columbia University Teacher’s College. Her research at Teacher’s College inspired her to pursue a career in school psychology; she then decided to get experience teaching in the classroom to enhance her future practice. She worked as an associate fifth grade teacher at The Willows Community School for two years, and then completed a Ph.D. in School Psychology at Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Kelly worked as a School Psychologist for the Los Angeles Unified School District before coming to St. Matthew’s. She loves working as a team with the students, families, and faculty at St. Matthew’s and is committed to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. In addition to her work as the school psychologist, Dr. Kelly teaches Human Development to all students in grades 5-8.
