Current Employment Opportunities:

The Health Clerk works with teachers to support students, families and employees with first aid, evaluating their needs for other forms of medical car and referring them to the appropriate resources. This position provides advice to Senior Administration regarding health issues as they relates to the School and is responsible for developing and implementing health policies and procedures in support of the School's mission and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.


REPORTS TO: Head of School





  • Manages the school medication policies and procedures.
  • Provides major or minor first aid to students.
  • Provides emergency medical aid to students and school staff.
  • Supervises chronic/acute illnesses and injuries in the school setting.
  • Screens students for basic medical data and status.
  • Obtains, maintains, and updates student health history and records.
  • Documents student illness and accidents.
  • Manage local, state, and federal covid protocols.
  • Overview of emergency preparedness
  • Provide office support.


  • Evaluates students or employees with contagious or infectious diseases.
  • Oversees disease and risk mitigation in the school setting.
  • Provide insight on, and promoting for, health education and immunization programs.
  • Enforce the School’s protocol for blood-borne pathogens.
  • Coordinate with teachers in instructing students in health and wellness education.
  • Coordinate health and safety certification for employees (i.e., first aid, CPR and other health-related training).
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Oversee Manage Magnus online health system (collect, review, and update student health and emergency information).


  • Coordinate with Human Resources to document/report worksite injuries.
  • Develop and coordinate concussion protocols with Athletic Director.
  • Complete required state reports including immunization records.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive injury and illness prevention plan.
  • Participate in the development of the School’s Emergency Response Plan.
  • Develop/revise school health policies, procedures.



  • Registered nurse (RN) preferred.
  • LVN/EMT considered.
  • School Nurse Certificate and Public Health Certificate preferred.
  • 2-4 years of recent medical experience, preferably as a school nurse
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws
  • Verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Proficient computer and technology skills
  • Experience with Magnus Health preferred
  • Knowledge of community agencies to help students and their families

This is an exempt position. Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience. Benefits package includes, but is not limited to medical, life, and dental insurance, and a pension plan. Generous vacation package.


All school personnel must successfully complete a fingerprint background check through Live Scan and provide current tuberculosis clearance.
