Ways of Giving
Welcome!
Thank you for your interest in supporting St. Matthew's Parish School. All that our students enjoy today is made possible by the vision and generosity of alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, friends, and foundations who support our school through donations of time, talent, and treasure. This support is critical to St. Matthew's and we are grateful for your help in sustaining the St. Matthew's experience now and for the future.
Please be in touch if you have any questions about ways of supporting St. Matthew's or if you are interested in volunteering your time. We look forward to hearing from you.

Give Qualified Charitable Distribution from an IRA
Owners of individual retirement accounts (IRA) who are at least age 70 1/2 can contribute some or all of their IRAs to St. Matthew's. Qualified IRA gifts are not subject to certain charitable contributions limitations and are not reportable as income for federal income tax or for Social Security income purposes as they are donated directly to St. Matthew's, bypassing the owner of the IRA. In most states, the amounts withdrawn are not subject to state income taxes. Donors who do not itemize deductions on their federal income tax returns may benefit from making qualified IRA gifts up to $100,000 because of the gifts’ exclusion from gross income. Please let the Advancement Office know how you'd like to allocate the funds and to expect this gift. We urge you to consult your tax advisor to learn which benefits apply to you.
Make a Corporate Matching Gift
Many employers match gifts made by active, and sometimes retired employees, as well as directors, to encourage and support philanthropy. Securing a matching gift is an easy way to double or even triple your gift to St. Matthew's. Please ask your employer to see if they participate and obtain a matching gift form. If your contribution generates a matching gift, you will receive credit for the combined amount of your gift plus the matching funds. All matching gift companies are recognized in our Annual Report of Philanthropy.
Planned Giving Options
We are grateful to all of our alumni and friends who remember St. Matthew's Parish School in their estate plans. You can thoughtfully invest in the future of the school with a bequest of a specified amount, a percentage of your estate, listing the School as a beneficiary on your life insurance, or retirement plan. Your legacy gift would help us build our endowment, recruit, and retain top educators and maintain and grow our facilities so that future generations can benefit from a truly special St. Matthew's education. It help's us fulfill our education mission - to educate our children to serve, lead, and flourish - into the future. Please contact Michaela Carmichael at 310.454.1350 ext. 156 for sample bequest language or to discuss planned giving further and let the Advancement Office know if you have included us in your estate plans.
Gifts in Kind
