Preschool Program

St. Matthew’s preschool is located in the heart of the campus’ rustic setting.
Four classrooms, a library and three spacious play areas provide an arena where three
and four-year-old children are introduced to developmentally appropriate activities and concepts.

In all ways balance is sought.

• Physical, personal-social, spiritual and cognitive growth is nurtured through active exploration and problem solving.
• Learning environments are very carefully prepared
• Curriculum integrates literature, art, music, movement, cooking, math, science, gardening and field trips.
• Concepts under study encourage a love of learning, discovery and promote reading and mathematical literacy.
• A student- teacher ratio of 7:1 is maintained at both levels of the program.
• Weekly chapel service is tailored especially for preschool students.
• In-class volunteer opportunities abound for parents.
• Weekly newsletters are prepared by teachers for parents.
• Conferences are scheduled formally with parents twice a year and as needed.
