Affording St. Matthew's

It is our desire that St. Matthew’s be accessible to children from a wide range of economic backgrounds, whose parents are supportive of the School’s mission and who are well suited for admission. Since families may have a variety of financial needs from time to time, we offer both financial aid and tuition payment plans.
Tuition and Payment Plan
Tuition covers the
costs of providing the basic academic program for each student. It also
covers teachers' salaries, essential instructional materials,
maintenance and upkeep of buildings and equipment, and various support
services. Tuition charges for 2010-11 are as follows:
| Preschool a.m. only, 5-day....... | $13,000 |
| Grades K - 4............................ | $21,700 |
| Grade 5.................................... | $22,300 |
| Grade 6.................................... | $22,300 |
| Grade 7.................................... | $26,250 |
| Grade 8.................................... | $26,250 |
There is a one-time New Student fee of $1,500.
A
monthly tuition payment plan is available to all families and allows
parents, for a nominal fee, to pay a year’s tuition costs in two
installments or ten monthly payments beginning July 1st. Any questions
regarding the monthly tuition plan should be directed to the school’s
Business Manager.
Explanation of Financial Aid

The purpose of
the financial aid program is to provide a student body that is as fully
as possible representative of the community served by St. Matthew's. In
this respect, we offer Financial Aid Grants for those families with
demonstrated need.
A Committee consisting of the
Rector and School Administrators determines eligibility for Financial
Aid Grants. In making recommendations, the Committee will consider the
following:
- The student’s character, and ability to contribute to, and benefit from, the program offered by the School.
- The family’s needs, as identified by the Student and School Service for Financial Aid (SSS).
- The extent to which a family has already mobilized its own financial resources for paying tuition.
- The funds available for aid.
Financial
aid applications will be available on October 4th. If you would like to
receive an application, or have any questions regarding the program,
please contact Kristine Anderssen, Director of Financial Aid.
