Biography

Mrs. Barker is new to the St. Matthew’s community, joining in 2017. Having grown up in New York, Carinne began her career in education in college admissions at her alma mater, Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, where she received her B.A degree. Carinne earned a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from California State University, Northridge. She moved to Southern California in 1989, and joined The Buckley School, where she served as Director of Admission and Financial Aid for 25 years. She visited St. Matthew’s many times to speak with the eighth graders about Buckley. Most recently, Carinne served as Senior Director of Professional Development for The Enrollment Management Association (formerly SSATB), where she was responsible for planning, development, and implementation of professional development programs that train and support enrollment managers in independent schools. Carinne currently serves on NAIS’s Financial Aid Advisory Committee, as well as on the Program Committee of A Better Chance.
